Two absolutely remarkable November evenings with the dancing lights in Minnesota. I have had the honor of seeing the Aurora Borealis several times in my backyard the past few years, but I have never witnessed anything like the shows that arrived not just once, but TWICE this month.

I knew ahead of time that there would be a good chance for the conditions to be just right, so I texted a friend to see if she was up for an evening with the Northern Lights and her heart horse. The following evening, despite less promising predictions, I took a chance and drove to another friend's place almost an hour away, yet once again, it did not disappoint! All the horses were saints and put up with our shenanigans. It made for a lot of fun experimenting and capturing the most of the beauty that Lady Aurora had to offer.

It was incredible. The amount of reds and greens we could see with the naked eye - watching the lights move and dance directly above us, words can't do it justice, and the photos only capture a fraction of the spectacle. It was unbelievable to see with my own eyes, and even more so to see it from Minnesota, and not Iceland or Norway!

Witnessing the Northern Lights always reminds me of just how beautiful this life is, how beautiful our Earth is, how special it is that we all got to experience this together. The first night I saw people parked on the side of the road, sitting on top of their cars, pointing at the sky, and it made me smile to know that so many of us were feeling the same awe over it all. Then social media exploded with blues and reds and greens. I feel so lucky to have been able to capture these photos to share with you all.
